Places I'd to see.......Turkey

Suspicious Lizard

Mrs Beetons idea to wash your hair with egg!

I was inspired by my finding a make your own cosmetics book,
It talks about how bad commercial hair products are for our hair, and after researching a little more, I found that using egg to wash your hair used to be an acceptable practise.
Now me having temperamental hair all my life, I am used to trying all kinds of things to get my not straight, not curly hair under control.
So I decided to give it a whirl.
3 egg whites later whisked to a froth,
1 egg yolk (lots of protein) for conditioner
I washed my hair with the egg whites, I rinsed it through with the yolk conditioner,
i rinsed my hair, ensuring that the water was cool, scrambled egg would not be much fun...
after having to run two baths, as I could not expect to be clean after sitting in a bath of egg!
My hair had that squeaky clean sound, but not too hard to comb, but not silken like after using chemically proccessed Pantene..I await the result.

I let my hair dry itself over night, and the result, is not ideal, after having recently had highlights my hair is a little stressed anyway, but now the top especially where I have extra blonde pieces, feels scratchy and rough, and like brillo pad, the back is not bad as this hair is in better condition, no wher near as much frizz, the curls have half formed ok. But seriously lacking in the lustre department.
Ok result, I do not think I would get a comb through the top! Seriously want to get some real conditioner on it asap!
do I recommend washing your hair in egg.....no, would I do it again, maybe, but I would use a real commercial conditioner full of silicons and all the other bad stuff for after, not sure if the egg whites helped clean my hair better than the detergent I get from shampoo, but there was something about putting slime on my hair, that I really liked.
Over all I think egg whites to wash, yes it did feel good, and felt squeaky clean, but the lack of condtioner makes for a serious nest!
So now I have rats hair so you dont have to!
