Takes one to know one....

How people see the world is often a reflection of how they see themselves. If they think that the world is just a cesspool of lies and deceit, then they themselves may be full of lies and deceit. Watch out for those people who are always telling you just how corrupt the rest of the world is. As the saying goes, “It takes one to know one.”

KNOW THE RULES: how to choose the right hat for you...

you have a round-shaped face if...
- your face is as wide as it is long

the right hat for you? we suggest...

- small to medium length brim
- an asymmetrical tilt is good!

Rules of good hat making decisions

Rules for good hat-making decisions:

#1: COUTURE FOR THE MASSES: stop shopping at stores that buy and sell mass-produced hats
- the price might be right but the fit probably is not;
- manufacturers cannot customize a shape and size for you, but we can. in any price range;
- we can work with any budget in an effort to get a great hat on your head. couture for the masses!

#2: KNOW THYSELF: learn more about what shapes work best for you

generally speaking: the crown of the hat should be at least the same width as your face. full-figured? choose larger hats that will suit your proportions. petite? again, stay in proportion with a smaller crown and a brim doesn't overpower you or your look. tall people can wear all types of hats, including those with very tall crowns or wide brims.

#3: KNOW HOW TO MEASURE. FAR LESS INTIMATE THAN A BRA-FITTING AND PROBABLY EQUALLY UNKNOWN.
to measure your head in inches: place a soft tape measure across the center of your forehead (about an inch above your eyebrows), wrapping the tape around your head. keep the tape parallel to the floor. think about how you want the hat to feel on your head and do not pull too tight or make the tape too loose.

ARE YOU ABOVE AVERAGE?
In the United State, the common hat size for women is about 22 1/2 inches (this equates to about a 7 1/4" men's).

THE TOP HAT

Image thanks to lockhatters
The first man who was credited with wearing this new creation in London, the hatter John Hetherington, nearly caused a riot and was arrested for wearing a hat that was ‘calculated to frighten timid people’ (St James’s Gazette).

It's You I Like! Frederick 'McFeely' Rogers

It's you I like,
It's not the things you wear.
It's not the way you do your hair,
But it's you I like.
The way you are right now
The way down deep inside you
Not the things that hide you
Not your diplomas...
They're just beside you.
But it's you I like,
Every part of you,
Your skin, your eyes, your feelings,
Whether old or new.
I hope that you'll remember
Even when you're feeling blue,
That it's you I like,
It's you yourself, it's you
It's you I like!
